Technology issues- hard copies of assignments are acceptable if submitted by the assignment deadline, otherwise (email or shared Google doc ) are acceptable alternatives to CANVAS submission.

Welcome to Language Arts

Welcome to a new school year! My name is Shelley Christiansen, and I am working on my third decade of teaching in Franklin Township! My hobbies include camping, historical research and reenactment, archery, marksmanship, reading, and anything having to do with the outdoors! My service in the Reserve Officers Training Corps has ingrained a strong sense of discipline, structure, and respect. Learning is my passion, but I find joy singing in a contemporary Christian trio, expanding my skincare business, and looking for blessings in every moment. I love the confidence and pride that exploration, determination, and perseverance bring to life. Even the most difficult challenges may be overcome with teamwork and a sense of humor! I look forward to sharing these values with my students.

This is your journey, but you never have to face the challenges alone.
100% EFFORT- Don’t hold back. Even if the task seems too challenging, give your BEST effort. Bring daily supplies. Participate in class. Make each little moment count.
At the end of the year, we will have MUCH to celebrate!

Late/Missing/Make-Up Work policy- Assignment submitted on the day due, prior to leaving school= no penalty
Assignment Submitted within twenty-four hours= 50% penalty…WHY FINISH if late or no credit?
ALL assignments are practice for skills on a summative assessment (65%) of final grade.
0/10 or 5/10 points in the Practice (10%) or Formative (25%) category has less negative grade impact than missing test items due to lack of practice.
